Gougéres are a popular choice in France and often served with an apéritif.

Ingredients

Recipe

  • 1 quantity of choux pastry (link at bottom of page)
  • Gruyere cheese, grated
  • salt

Gougéres Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 Degrees C, Mark 6; baking sheet lined with parchment
  2. Beat 50g of grated Gruére cheese into the mixture along with the eggs. Drop (or pipe) heaped teaspoons of cheesy choux onto the baking sheet. Sprinkle the rest of the cheese over the gougéres.
  3. Bake 20-25 mins. to golden brown and are delicious served warm but can also be served cold.
