1. Cook ground beef and onion until browned in a large pot.
2. Drain off fat and return to the pot.
3. Add water, tomato sauce, tomatoes, beans, taco seasoning, sugar, salt and pepper.
4. Mix together and simmer for 15 minutes.
5. Adjust the seasonings, if needed.
This recipe is easily doubled and it is so good that I usually double it so that we can have leftovers for a few meals.
