Easy Fondu

I remember struggling with stringy fondus in the early 1980's - awful things and I had pretty much given up on the idea until I stumbled on this which is so easy and gives perfect results every time. You can decide on how many it will serve by varying the accompaniments and size of cheese but, beware, your guests will keep returning for more!

Ingredients

For 4 people

Recipe

  • 1 600 g Mont D or cheese
  • 2 tbs dry white wine
  • black pepper

Easy Fondu Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C
  2. Remove any outer plastic wrapping from the cheese and make slits in the top with a sharp knife. Pour over the glass of wine and pepper then place in the oven for 30 minutes by which time the interior will be molten.
  3. It is now up to you how to serve: perhaps dip in chunks of country bread and cooked potato and, for a fuller meal, serve alongside a selection of charcuterie (cooked meats) and salad
