Outside-In Cheeseburgers

Instead of the usual topping of a slice of cheese, bite into the burger and find the cheese oozing inside. You can choose to serve these with a burger bap or take the healthy option and serve alongside a mixed salad.

  • 400 g minced beef - 20% fat*
  • 100 g grated cheese of your choice or crumbled blue cheese

Outside-In Cheeseburgers Directions

  1. Place the mince in a mixing bowl. Now you need to roll up your sleeves and get your hands in there. Really squish the meat about, breaking it down as you do so. Divide into four equal portions and roll into ball shapes.
  2. One at a time, holding the ball in the palm of your hand make a deep indentation then pack a quarter of the cheese into each. Close the meat around the cheese then shape into patties on a lightly floured surface. Cook on a hot griddle pan.
  4. * the 20% fat is necessary for burger making. Any less fat content and the finished burger is likely to be dry and hard.
