Spicy Chicken

A really quick, easy and tasty midweek meal. Serve with fresh vegetables and a mound of rice to soak up the sauce.

For 4 people


  • breasts, bonelessand skinless
  • oil
  • 200 g mushrooms, washedand sliced
  • 1 glass white wine
  • 1 tsp harissa paste, to taste
  • 200 ml crème fraiche – small tub, either low or full fat
  • freshly milled black pepper

Spicy Chicken Directions

    1. Trim all visible fat and sinew from the chicken then make 3 slices lengthways down the chicken breast then cut across ways into chunks.
    2. Sauté the chicken gently until it just begins to brown. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook for 2-3 minutes.
    3. Add the white wine to the pan, bring to simmer then add the harissa, mixing well. Cook for about 5 minutes.
    4. Add the crème fraiche and continue to simmer until the sauce has thickened and the chicken is completely cooked. Taste and season.
