Piquant Oven-Baked Tuna

Robust fresh tuna is an oily fish bursting with the essential farry acid, omega 3. Marinaded and baked this recipe is so speedy you could almost consider it as a cheats alternative!

For 2 people


  • 2 fresh tuna steaks
  • 1 small dried chilli or 1 mild fresh, seeds removed & chopped
  • juice of 1/2 lemon
  • couple tbsp. olive oil
  • fresh coriander

Piquant Oven-Baked Tuna Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C
  2. Place the tuna in a non-metallic oven-proof dish. Crumble 1/2 the chilli over each, followed by the lemon juice, olive oil, and chopped coriander. Leave to marinade for about 30 minutes then slam into the preheated oven for about 15 minutes depending on your preference to the pinkness of tuna.
  3. Take care not to rub eyes after handling the chilli - it remains on your fingers for a considerable time.
