Canadian Maple Syrup Cheese Ball

A recipe, courtesy of my dear Canadian friend Patti, with whom I spent many idle hours simply enjoying the pleasures of food, wine and laughter. Thank you Patti!

  • 3/4 cup grated sharp aged cheddar
  • 3/4 cup grated mild or medium cheddar
  • 250g cream cheese
  • 2 tbs maple syrup
  • chopped pecans or walnuts for rolling

Canadian Maple Syrup Cheese Ball Directions

  1. Beat all the ingredients together with an electric mixer then chill until firm. When it is firm, either roll into a ball or log shape. Roll either the ball or log in crushed pecans or walnuts.
  2. Serve with crackers
  3. Hint: This recipe can be made a week or more in advance - it is even better tasting after the flavours have had a chance to develop then coat with the nuts just before serving..
